An infusion pump that delivers 5% too much, a patient monitor that reads blood pressure high, or a scale that is off by two pounds can all pass a quick power-on check and still give wrong results. Mr. Biomed Tech Services provides medical equipment calibration services in Texas for hospitals, surgery centers, clinics and labs. We test each device against traceable reference equipment, adjust it to the manufacturer's specification and give you a dated record. Calibration is part of our biomedical equipment repair services, and it can be added to any preventive maintenance plan.
At a glance:
- Calibration to manufacturer specifications, using test equipment with current calibration certificates.
- A record for every device: readings before and after, the tolerance, the test equipment used and the next due date.
- Same-day visits across Dallas–Fort Worth. Houston, Austin, San Antonio and other Texas areas get visits scheduled in advance, under 8 business hours, Monday through Friday.
What medical equipment calibration covers
| Device | What we check and adjust |
|---|---|
| Infusion and syringe pumps | Flow-rate accuracy, occlusion pressure alarms, air-in-line detection, bolus volume |
| Patient monitors | ECG, NIBP, SpO2 and temperature against a simulator; alarm limits and timing |
| Defibrillators | Delivered energy at each setting, charge time, pacing output, ECG input |
| EKG machines | Lead accuracy, amplitude and paper/print speed against a simulator |
| Electrosurgical units | Output power across loads, return-electrode monitoring, leakage |
| Anesthesia machines | Flow meters, vaporizer output, pressure and volume monitoring, alarms |
| Scales and bed scales | Weight accuracy across the range with certified test weights |
| Centrifuges and lab equipment | Speed (RPM), timer and temperature accuracy |
| Autoclaves | Temperature and pressure sensor accuracy, cycle timing |
How a calibration visit works
- Inventory. We list each device with its model, serial number and asset tag, or work from your existing list.
- As-found test. Each device is tested before any adjustment, so you know whether it was in tolerance while in use.
- Adjustment. Devices outside tolerance are adjusted to the manufacturer's specification, or repaired if a part has failed.
- As-left test. We test again after adjustment and record the final readings.
- Electrical safety. Leakage current and ground resistance are checked at the same visit.
- Records. You receive a report for every device, plus a list of anything that failed or needs parts.
The as-found reading matters. If a device was out of tolerance, your clinical team may need to review recent results from it, and the record shows exactly when the problem was found.
How often to calibrate
Most facilities follow the manufacturer's recommended interval, which is often once a year for general equipment and more often for high-use or high-risk devices. Your interval can also follow an equipment maintenance program built on AAMI guidance. Labs also follow the calibration rules of the CLIA program and their accreditation body. We can set up a schedule so every device comes due at one visit instead of scattered across the year, and combine it with our annual medical equipment inspection.
Calibration for every kind of facility
- Hospitals and surgery centers: scheduled calibration of pumps, monitors, defibrillators and OR equipment, planned around case schedules. See our biomedical services for hospitals and surgery centers.
- Clinics and urgent care: one visit for the whole equipment list, with records ready for audits.
- Home health and nursing homes: scales, beds, monitors and pumps; see home health equipment services.
- Facilities without their own biomed team: our clinical engineering services manage the full schedule for you.
Calibration services by city
From our Garland headquarters we serve facilities across Texas. Local details are on our city pages: Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio and Garland.

Medical Equipment Calibration Services: FAQs
What is the difference between calibration and inspection?
Inspection checks that a device is safe and working: electrical safety, alarms, physical condition. Calibration measures its accuracy against reference equipment and adjusts it if needed. Most facilities do both at the same visit.
Is your test equipment calibrated?
Yes. Our simulators, analyzers and test weights have current calibration certificates, and each device record lists the test equipment used.
Can you calibrate equipment from different manufacturers in one visit?
Yes. We work across brands and device types, so one visit can cover your whole list.
What happens if a device fails calibration?
We adjust it on site where possible. If a part has failed, we quote the repair, and we can supply a rental unit while it is fixed.
