Mobility

A fifth wheel or steering mode makes long hallway moves easier and safer for staff. Powered drive assist helps with heavy patients and ramps. Large casters roll more easily over thresholds and elevator gaps.

Mattress

Patients may spend hours on a stretcher in the ER or recovery. A thicker, pressure-redistributing mattress improves comfort and reduces pressure injury risk. The cover must be intact and compatible with your disinfectants.

Stretcher or hospital bed?

Short stays favor stretchers: they move easily, fit through tighter spaces and cost less. Once patients regularly stay many hours or overnight, as in observation units or boarding in the ER, a hospital bed may serve them better, with more comfortable surfaces and features such as bed exit alarms. How many stretchers?
