Mindray M7 portable ultrasound system

The Mindray M7 is a laptop-style portable ultrasound system built for point-of-care work, in places like emergency departments, ICUs, anesthesia teams placing nerve blocks, and clinics that need a capable scanner that moves easily between rooms. Many Texas facilities look for a refurbished Mindray M7 ultrasound because it offers general, vascular, cardiac and procedural imaging in a compact unit at a lower cost than cart-based systems. Mr. Biomed Tech Services offers refurbished Mindray M7 ultrasound systems for sale on our medical equipment page, short-term M7 rentals through our medical equipment rental service, and repair and maintenance for M7 systems you already own.

A short history of the M7

Mindray announced the M7 in the United States in 2010, describing it as a premium portable system with octal-beam imaging, multiple tissue harmonic imaging, single-button optimization (iTouch) and wireless data transfer, according to its launch press release. Mindray now markets the system as the M7 Premium. Because systems on the used market span several software versions, two M7 units can differ in features and probe support, so always check the exact configuration.

Mindray M7 transducers

Mindray's M7 Premium product page lists the following probe families:

  • Convex: C11-3s (a micro-convex probe for small footprints) and 6C2s (abdominal)
  • Linear: L12-4s, L14-6s and L14-6Ns for vascular access, nerve blocks, small parts and musculoskeletal work
  • Phased array: P4-2s, P7-3s and P12-4s for adult, pediatric and neonatal cardiac imaging
  • TEE: P7-3Ts for transesophageal imaging

Choose probes by the exams you do most. A point-of-care setup often pairs a linear probe for access and blocks with a phased array for focused cardiac and lung scans and a convex probe for abdominal and FAST exams.

Is a refurbished Mindray M7 right for you?

The M7 suits facilities that need a dependable, portable system for procedures and focused exams rather than a high-end cart for full diagnostic studies. Emergency departments, ICUs, anesthesia departments, urgent care centers, vascular access teams, rural clinics and veterinary practices often fit that profile. Departments doing high volumes of comprehensive echo or obstetric studies may prefer a cart-based system. Our ultrasound buying guide compares portable and cart systems, and our probe buying guide helps match transducers to exams.

Refurbished M7 inspection checklist

  1. Confirm the software version and the licensed options (for example cardiac, TEE or needle-guidance packages).
  2. Get element test results for every probe and inspect lenses, cables and strain reliefs.
  3. Check battery health and run time on battery; the system should scan without interruption when unplugged for a reasonable period.
  4. Test the screen, keyboard, trackball and every probe port.
  5. Test the cart (if included), including the handle, brakes and probe holders.
  6. Confirm DICOM export to your PACS and wireless transfer settings.
  7. Get an electrical safety report and the warranty in writing.

Refurbished ultrasound systems from Mr. Biomed Tech Services come with a 90-day warranty.

Renting a Mindray M7

Rentals work well for covering a system out for repair, adding a scanner for a new anesthesia block program or a surge in ED volume, or trialing point-of-care ultrasound before purchasing. Tell us which probes you need so the system arrives ready.

Keeping an M7 running

Portable systems are carried, docked and cleaned many times a day, so most M7 repairs involve probes, batteries, the keyboard and trackball, and connectors. A few habits extend their life:

  • Clean probes with disinfectants approved by the manufacturer, following the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine's transducer cleaning guidelines.
  • Hang probes in holders and keep cables off the floor.
  • Keep the system on its cart or in a case when moving it.
  • Charge batteries as the manufacturer recommends and replace them when run time drops.
  • Keep vents clear to prevent overheating.

Our ultrasound machine repair team services the M7, and our guide to ultrasound machine parts covers replacement probes and boards. Safety testing and records are available through our medical equipment inspection service. The FDA's ultrasound imaging page explains why output and safety checks remain part of good maintenance.

Using Mindray equipment across departments

Facilities that standardize on one manufacturer can simplify training and service. If you also run Mindray anesthesia equipment, see our Mindray anesthesia machines guide.

Delivery and service across Texas

For in-stock systems, delivery and setup can usually be scheduled the same day across Dallas–Fort Worth from our Garland headquarters. Elsewhere in Texas, we confirm delivery dates when you order and provide on-site setup and service with visits scheduled in advance. Service requests receive a response in under 8 business hours, Monday through Friday. Hospitals can see our services for healthcare facilities, and when you retire an older scanner, our medical equipment disposition service can resell or recycle it.
